This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information obtained through our website, email and SMS/MMS text messaging program (the “Messaging Service”). By using our website or opting in to receive text messages from us, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

If you are a client, the collection, use, processing, and retention of the information you provide for a professional engagement are governed by the engagement letter for that engagement. Where this Privacy Policy and an engagement letter differ on a matter the engagement letter covers, the engagement letter governs.

2. Information We Collect

When you interact with us, including through forms, emails, SMS/MMS messages, or website features, we may collect:

• Contact details: such as your name, phone number, and email address.
• Message information: including message content, delivery status, and response data.
• Technical information: such as your carrier, device type, and IP address (for system and security purposes).
• Payment information: such as invoice and payment records, and the payer name and bank details that come with an EFT, wire, or ACH payment. We do not receive or store credit card information; card payments are collected and processed by Stripe (see section 4).

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Deliver and manage SMS/MMS messages, including service alerts and updates you request.
• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
• Maintain compliance with carrier and legal requirements for 10DLC messaging.
• Detect and prevent spam or fraudulent activity.

In addition to SMS/MMS messaging, we may also communicate with you via email. When you provide your email address, you consent to receive communications from Ferrum CPA Professional Corporation, including responses to inquiries, updates regarding our services, and other relevant information.

4. Sharing of Information

We may share information only with:

• SMS and telecommunication providers (such as carriers, gateway providers, and The Campaign Registry) to ensure message delivery and compliance.
• Service providers who assist with website or messaging operations under confidentiality agreements.
• Stripe, our only credit card processor, when you choose to pay an invoice by credit card. You enter your card details on Stripe’s payment page, and Stripe processes them under the Stripe Privacy Policy. Stripe may process this information outside Canada, including in the United States.
• Law enforcement or regulators if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

We do not rent, sell, or disclose personal information outside these purposes.

5. Data Retention and Security

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. For clients, the retention of engagement records is set out in the engagement letter. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You can opt out of our text messaging program at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message. You may also contact us at info@fe.cpa to update, correct, or delete your information.

You can opt out of marketing or informational emails at any time by contacting us at info@fe.cpa. After opting out, you will no longer receive text messages and emails, except those required for legal or transactional purposes.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our website and Messaging Service are not directed to individuals under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page. Continued use of our website or Messaging Service after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
